Progress Report January 1st, 2010

As we enter the new year, the construction of the Senior Housing projects in Interlaken, NY shows great progress.

After connection of the sewer and water lines to the Village of Interlaken mains, lines were installed in the floor of the building under the supervision of the Seneca County Code Enforcement officer. Over 150 yards of concrete were then poured to form the ground floor.

Following two weeks of curing, on December 28th, 2009 the framing of the walls was begun, with almost the entire first floor completed by the start of the new years .

Completion is still anticipated to be summer 2010 with units available around August 2010.

The housing progress is moving along - the driveway and parking lot were covered with plastic underlayment and stone.

The footers have been poured and block up to the ground level have been installed. Insulation was put around the block prior to back filling.

The entire inside of the foundation has been filled with stone prior to the laying of the concrete floor.

Today the plumbers were starting to install the plumbing fixtures that will go under the first floor concrete floor. It is expected that this should be completed early next week, weather permitting.

Once the plumbing is installed and inspected by the county code enforcement officer, the foundation floor will be poured and work can begin on the outside walls which will be wood.

The concrete block tower is up two stories and probably will be finished soon.

The tap for the sewer into the village main that comes down from main street was successfully completed. A tap for the water was also completed, and water lines run down from Cayuga Street .

The Interlaken Senior Housing project is off to a flying start under the leadership of the construction firm of Conifer-LeChase.

The driveway and parking lot off Cayuga Street has been dug, plastic underlayment and stone placed and rolled. The drive way is now passable for large trucks - Asphalt will probably be installed in the spring.

The construction trailer is in place behind the storage sheds off Cayuga Street, (entrance facing east ). The site is a “Hard Hat” area so please stop at the trailer prior to entering the site.

The area to collect runoff has been bulldozed out, and barriers put in place to prevent the runoff of silt into the adjacent stream.

The building area has been leveled and the concrete poured for the footers. Cement blocks have been installed up to ground level for the building.
